Mac laptop or pc laptop?!
Question:
I'm looking for performance, ease of use, and price. I know Macs are expensive so cut some slack on them.Q&A For PC

Really that's just a question of personal use and choice. If you would mostly use your laptop for internet and multimedia uses (ie. audio and video editing, photos, etc) then go with the Mac, but if you want a system that is easily accessible with any other systems, like if you are a student for instance or working in an office environment or like to spend time playing store bought games on your laptop then go with PC.
Like I said it's all a matter of personal opinion and choice, I love both systems because they both have their benefits and uses, I mostly use my PC for work and games and I use my mac for internet and multimedia. oh and Macs are quite a bit more expensive but if you have the money for it then it's a good buy.
Edit: This is a not for Jamie's response below, Like I said earlier I have both systems and I can assure you that at certain work places the mac is not allowed on the network, it's true that it will connect to a network but with certain Unix and Windows based servers it all depends on the administrators or IT department at the workplace. Second you can dual boot vista on the new Mac's just as long as you have the pentium based ones, I do not. So really if you can dual boot your Mac with windows Vista, a Mac would be your best bet. And by the way Jamie, you like Mac over PC, but your opinions are biased, next time offer advice that is actually beneficial, this person needs to weight the pros and cons of both systems before making a decision, you made it sound like the Mac was the best system in the world, I will admit that I enjoy my mac but I also quite enjoy my other systems as well.Q&A For PC

PC! macs are way overpriced, and i also don't like the os. ( i use an iMac every day at school) if you are used to a windows computer, don't switch. you will get a much better deal on a windows laptop. you can find a laptop comparable to the macbook or the macbook pro for hundreds cheaper. i once did a comarison of the dell xps 1330 and the macbook, and even when i gave the xps a better processor it was still about $400 more expensive.Q&A For PC
Definatly MacBook/MacBook pro (the macbook is just as good as the pro, just with a smaller screen and slightly upgraded specs. If you can't afford the pro, go macbook, that's what I have and it's awesome).
Macs are more expensive, but they are definatly worth it in the long run. Learning to use a Mac is not as difficult as it might appear. Anything you know, just replace Control with Command and it's the same ;).Q&A For PC

A Mac will allow you to connect to any P.C. based network.
You can also install Windows Vista on your Mac and play those games that everybody is talking about.
Macs are not just for media students. You can get Microsoft Office for your new Mac. (I trust you will be buying one). Apple also do a very good office suite of software, iWork.
The Mac offers the best of the computing world. Securely.
Just wanted to break some myths and suppositions based upon lack of knowledge propagated by people who have clearly never used an Apple Mac.Q&A For PC

OK macs can be expensive. they are a very well built machine though.
If you choose a windows machine It doesn't really matter what brand you choose. ACER is the only real brand at the bottom of the recomendations list and *** is the only real brand at the top. the rest fall in the middle offering the same price/ performance rates.
The Reason I would suggest an ASUS laptop would simply be because they make all the parts for the other companies, macs included. And they sell them at a better price because there is no middle man, I.E. Dell, HPO, Toshiba, Alienware.
You can save $300-$600 easily on an ASUS modle and you get an automatic 2years parts and labor on alltheir models plus a free 1years accidental warrenty. to add this to a name brand machine would be another $200-$300.
I go to .?Submit=ENE&N=2034940032%2050001315&name=ASUS" rel="nofollow">http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis... for info and when buying an asus model. They have the other brands there alos, but you will see very quickly that if you decide to choose a windows based laptop, that aSUS is the best choice.
Now as far as chooseing one os or the other. If you already know osx and can handle a leapord based laptop, then go with the mac, if oyu can afford it that is. if oyu are a little unsure if oyu shoud leanr a new operating system copmpletely, and money is an issue, then go with the ASUS models.
Hope this helpsQ&A For PC
